I'm finally getting our blog started! We've been wanting to share our experiences exploring the Murphy area with our guests and potential. When we bought the chalet the Summer of 2005, we had never spent time in or around Murphy. So, we are newbies and we are exploring! Some of the links that we have on our site have been given to us from our guests, friends, or others that live in the area. But we think that it might be helpful for those visiting our site to get another explorers viewpoint. Also, we come across places that we feel should get a little free blog press of their own. So, here we go!! This past weekend we visited Hiawassee, GA. While it's the off season there, we still had a good time shopping the places that are open. Linda's was full of great stuff for our cabin including a variety of quilts and decor. We also found a few things at Victoria's Attic. We're still thinking about a buffet that we saw there. Anderson's Department store had a selection of "Life is Good" shirts, socks, and pajamas. We really like the Life is Good designs and ended up taking home a few different items(okay, so we ended up with a bag of items). We look forward to returning during the season to try out a few more of the shops. While we're sharing, our favorite restaurant in Murphy is Shoebooties. It's a family owned restaurant and the food is great. Not too expensive and the staff is friendly. We're becoming obnoxious regulars whenever we're up at the cabin. If you're in town, you should check them out. They're across from the bank at the main intersection downtown. No snow this time, but maybe next time. Hope you're having a great New Year!!
