When we first took the plunge and bought our cabin, I thought that it would be mostly a Spring through Fall thing. When Winter came, I discovered more to like about being in the mountains.
The Winter is the ultimate quiet. While it's true that you don't have the lush green of the Spring and Summer or the bright colors of November, the quiet is almost spiritual. Maybe because the numerous activities of the warmer months are missing or because the weather limits outdoor living, Winter is the most relaxing.
In addition it's the perfect time of year to crank up a nice wood fire in the wood stove fireplace and cozy up. Watching the fire and diving into a good book or listening to favorite music, it's easy to drift off to a lovely nap. Romantic moments are just as plentiful in front of a warm fire.
And then there's the hot tub! My very favorite time of year for the hot but is when the temperature is in the 20's. Add some snow flying by outside and it doesn't get any better. We find it hard to leave the tub when it's that perfect. From the comments of some of our guests, we're not the only ones.
So, if the bailouts and media's daily bad news about the economy are dragging you down, consider coming to the mountains for a long weekend and recharge those "batteries". Don't forget that we have high-speed internet, so if one of you have to work remote to fit in the trip, just bring your laptop and knock out a few tasks while enjoying some true Serenity!
Hope to hear from you soon, The Owners of Serenity Hill Chalet
